Whilst it's recognized that a man's penis size plays a very important role in giving a woman the sexual satisfaction she wants, there are many other methods that a man can employ to give his partner the ultimate enjoyment.
Clitoral stimulation using his fingers, his tongue, his mouth, or his erect penis can all achieve the desired results if done correctly, and also add plenty of variety and interest to their bedroom repertoire. After all, what man would like to eat the same food day after day.
By varying one's sexual techniques and not relying on a single method to achieve gratification, a relationship will continue to develop and intensify.
However, the basic means of being able to regularly satisfy a woman is by penile penetration, and in order to do this satisfactorily a man must have the right equipment. For the man who needs help, then penis enlargement is the answer.
The crux of the matter is that most women don't like very small or very thin penises, whatever is done with them. A small, or pencil-thin penis is not at all satisfying in itself and many women complain that they 'can't feel anything,' especially if their vagina has previously been stretched by having children.
That does not necessarily mean that men with small or thin penises cannot be good lovers - there are other methods of giving a woman an orgasm - but their penis alone is not going to do it.
Research and magazine surveys have confirmed that what most women want is a bigger-than-average penis, but the most important factor is width rather than length.
They say the ideal penis is one which is thick enough to stretch the woman's vaginal opening and which can be felt inside their body, each time they have sex:
"I would rather sleep with a guy who has a short, thick member than someone with a thin, reedy thing that hits my cervix every time he penetrates me."
Similarly, most of the 200 women interviewed representing all ages (over 18), sizes, ethnic background, and sexual habits opted for thickness (or the circumference) over length, as they claimed to enjoy the feeling of a thick penis rubbing against their vaginal walls rather than having an unusually long penis poking against their insides.
A study conducted in the early 60s by the Alfred C. Kinsey Institute for Sex Research has shown that the average penis size is anywhere from 5.75 inches to 6.25 inches.
This survey was carried out on college students and ties in with similar studies elsewhere.
Size does matter - to a certain extent - in order to give an intense physical vaginal sensation to a woman:
"I once had sex with a guy who had a cock that was about 4" long and I couldn't feel anything. As I only went out with the guy because he made it plain there would be sex afterwards, I was terribly disappointed."
'Sure it matters - I've had some really big ones in my time, and I really enjoyed having them! I find that the bigger the penis, the greater the feeling of enjoyment and excitement and the more intense is my orgasm. OK, there are other ways, besides putting it in, of bringing a woman to full excitement. But most men are not interested in that, all they want to do is to come themselves and let the woman take care of her own enjoyment. So a guy with a small dick isn't going to excite me. Only a big dick will do that"
In fact, surveys show a woman who doesn't prefer a bigger-than-average penis is more of an exception rather than the norm. Over 60% of women in a steady relationship would prefer their partner to have a bigger penis.
The mantra of the generation Xers is that 'bigger is better'
This mindset refers to a multitude of things - houses, cars, TV sets, computers etc. It also extends to the size of a man's penis.
Although big men may have a bigger penis than smaller men, the difference in size may only be marginal. Contrary to popular myth, the size of a man's penis bears no relation to the size of his index finger or his foot size.
